Services

Vintage Note proposes the following services:

Listening session

Even if we do efforts to present honestly our curated loudspeaker picks and describe the musicality we experience, there is something we cannot answer for you over a remote conversation: "Do they please me?". If you are serious over buying a pair, or horribly confused about which one among two will be the elected, drop us a note, we will accommodate a listening session where we will invite you. To make it clear: the answer of "i wonder if this, this or that speaker will fit me" will always be: come to our showroom and listen to them, all of them in one place. If they are here, yes they are good. Period.

Integration of digital components in a vintage system

Perhaps you don't consider that owning vintage audio means that you absolutely have to play vynil records or cassette tapes… sipping a brandy and smoking tobacco. So do we. Digital sources can now reach a high level of quality, and audiophile DACs (Digital Audio Converter) have wiped the "metallic" taste of early cd recordings. We can advise you how to prep your sources and build a system where you have both your track collection a few clicks away and a great vintage sound pleasure.

Installation

May you need some assistance in installing your new gems, we probably may help if you are a nice person living at a reasonable distance.

Contract / consulting

Are you building or renovating a house and would like your system to shine? Are you an interior architect or decorator and have some requirements by an audiophile client that want a system that looks as good as it sounds? We may help in the correct sound setup and sharp looking integration of vintage audio components.

Used equipment trade in

New project, new space, duplicates or a collection becoming too invasive? Drop us a mail if you consider selling some gear. Please read first the below: what we do NOT handle. We have a very limited list of sought after items, so if you respect our time by not asking for out of scope stuff, we'll try to provide a nice answer in any case.

Recycling

Thinking about trashing these old torn speakers or this scratchy sounding amp? Please think recycling. Your local container park will handle them appropriately without risk for nature.

And in some cases, we may help clients with a part coming from your gear, so if you are a good soul, drop us a note before. Remember: only vintage top items that may fit our list please.

What Vintage Note does not provide:

We DO NOT BUY the following: anything related to video machinery, tape machines (reel or cassette, DAT), tuners, receivers, tube amplifiers (very exciting but we do not have the expertise), minisdic, PA/sono/DJ gear except Technics SL vynil turntables and a very limited number of mixers. If you see a brand on our website, ask, if not, don't be over enthusiast about it.

Remote price estimates if you want to trade your gear. We need to see, touch and ear it. And we really don't like rude people who disappear after we provided a first answer. We are not a pawn shop. Gear found in the cellar of a departed needs your respect, not your greed.

An answer to questions involving "What is your best price for…" and the like.

Repair advice for electronics we did not sell. For vintage loudspeakers, please inquire, we may be able to repair them.

New parts.

Exchanges for gear we did not sell firsthand.

Foreign delivery paperwork usually requested outside EU; like proformas, customs forms and declarations, waybills… but if you arrange all yourself we will pack them carefully for your courier to pick them up.
