Advent /1 loudspeakers
A legendary signature does not come by chance
The man, the product. Henry Kloss, the man behind the Advent/1, was a pivotal figure in the development of high-fidelity audio equipment. Kloss had a profound impact on the audio industry throughout his career. His commitment to making high-quality sound accessible to a broader audience was rewarded by numerous accolades for his work, including induction into the Audio Hall of Fame. He co-founded several influential companies, including Acoustic Research (AR), KLH, and Advent Corporation, founded in 1967.
The Advent /1, produced from 1977 to 1983, is an evolution of the Advent Large model. From the own words of Henry Kloss about the difference with the Advent Large, he said "it's a convenience proposal. They sound exactly the same". This two-way speaker system features a long-throw design woofer allowing for deeper bass response, and a ferrofluid-cooled, soft-dome tweeter nicknamed "Fried egg" due to his particular color.
The listening session revealed a very well balanced "East Coast" speaker. A well-defined midrange and treble complements the speaker’s solid bass performance. The result is a natural and pleasing sound that works well across a variety of music genres.
Extremely popular in the US when they hit the market, the Advent are fairly rare in Europe and really worth to be discovered. A special mention for their polite capability at doing well with every kind of music. Come and discover them.
Very good overall condition. We replaced the woofer suspensions by brand new quality ones.
