The PMA-700 series represents a celebrated era in Denon’s mid-to-late 1990s analog lineup. Positioned in the sweet spot between accessible entry-level units and high-end separates, this series was engineered with dual-mono power architectures, heavy-duty shielding, and Signal Level Divided Construction (S.L.D.C.) to keep signal channels pure and separated. As one of the final and most refined models in this generation, the PMA-725R perfected these design principles, delivering lower distortion, superior chassis damping, and silent background floors.

One feature aboave others: the advanced High-Current Dual-Mono Power Supply. Twin transformers provide exceptional current stability, effortlessly driving demanding speaker loads and handling sudden dynamic shifts. Picky 4 ohm speakers or electrostatic panels? No problem!

Other features are none but superior class: source direct to bypass tone and balance control circuitry, discrete MM & MC phono stage, subsonic filtering.

Each time we listen a nineties and above amp, we have ears wide open for any excess of rigidity, less of character, a fatiguing treble. None of this here.

The bass is deep, authoritative, and well-controlled. The twin-transformer power supply does a great job here. The mids are warm, organic, and natural. Vocals and acoustic instruments carry realistic body and rich presence, without sacrificing detail. And finally a crisp, open, and extended treble. Cymbals and delicate upper harmonics ring out with air and clarity while remaining completely smooth and free from harsh listening fatigue.

The dynamics are fast rhythmically spot on, while the stage image is ample and organized
