JBL Decade L36 loudspeakers - restored

We present you a very nice pair of JBL L36 of the Decade years. Equipped with the 125A (A for Alnico magnet fitted to the woofer). The Model L36 and Decade 36 is the exact same speaker, we noticed the decade comes with white grille pegs.
If you are just discovering vintage hi-fi, you just need to know their reputation is truly deserved, the sound is fabulous and brings the most satisfaction on pop, rock, funk, metal and all dynamic music of the seventies/eighties.
These JBL are very sought after but second hand market present most of the time tired examples. Consider them as an investment if you buy from reliable source. You won't be disappointed.
We have those in a very nice condition natural oak veneer finish. The usual sanding, turpentine an lin seed oil treatment give them a very sweet vintage look. Add the black matte respray of the front and back faces.
The L125A woofers are perfect with their new suspensions, the LE5-6 mids are very good as the LE25-4 tweeters.
For this pair we decided to rebuilt the filters, using polypropylene Janzen Audio caps instead of the original paper ones, that tend to make the high frequencies a bit muddy with age; as the real ALPS L-Pots were deoxydized to the full. We added solid banana connectors as well.
The grilles are present in chocolate brown, with their metal badges, and have been steamed for sanitation.
Overall, a fully sorted up pair that looks great for its 50 years old and will give the audiophile long years of pleasure.
