Marantz 1030 amplifier
The little giant
The nickname "little giant" comes from the paradox that the least expensive console amplifier Marantz of the series is still assembled with all the same precision craftsmanship and meticulous construction as the costlier units. Little price, giant performance for this 1973 to 1978 produced equipment.
It's not as powerful nor does it have as many features than the upper numbers, but this baby amp sings well. And this pick is a production model offering you best of both worlds as it comes with a pre out/ main in.
The performance is clear and detailed. Vocals and solos are excellent. Totally untiring and happy on a comfy room at fairly close distance. The bass is there as well, as long as you pair it with high sensitivity speakers, or you use it as a mellow preamp driving a powerhorse master unit.
The finishing is very satisfying, with the shiny brushed silver fascia and the "faux wood" carefully mimicked on the metal cabinet. The tiny size adds some precious to the item.
Finished in silver.
Fully cleaned, tested, deoxydized and sanitized unit. Recent restoration.
Perfect working condition, see the photo gallery for potential cosmetic signs of patina and age.
