Monitor Audio MA7 loudspeakers

220€

Tiny but capable bookshelf monitor

Monitor Audio has never been on the cheap side, but the built quality and attention to detail command the price tag, like strand copper cable used for internal wiring, plastic foam lining to reduce resonance in the cabinets and fine components, and glueing of the crossover elements.

This 1977 MA7 model was popular, as music lovers liked the compactness of the speakers, which is in demand at home, coupled with high sound quality. Like the best British brands around, the MA7 was equipped with a Mylar tweeter and a mid-woofer with a polymer-coated fabric cone.

Extremely smooth, clean and even tempered, and unfussy, giving you excellent stereo imaging. Highly efficient, it proves to have excellent dynamics and detail and gives us an impression of very faithful, "monitor like" reproduction. You need some attention on the placement and a close listening position to hear the best from them.

Tested, cleaned, deoxydized.

The veneer is good all round with minimal marks.

Perfect working condition, see the photo gallery for cosmetic signs of patina and age.

The stands are not part of the sale.
