Award winner without breaking the bank

Rotel has always been praised for top quality at affordable price, and here again, with not much visual fuss.

Only 7cm height, rated at 40 watts, this amplifier really deserves a blind test as it is sounding so much above its specs. Even if we enter the years 2000 with this model, it still has a quality phono entry and a tone bypass.

The scene is fresh, vibrant and powerful, the bass is steady. Vocals are lively, detailed. The horns are glitzy.

For consistency we tried it out with several bookshelf sized speakers, and never felt a lack of kick from its 40 watts on paper. If you a reasonable on the budget, and do not want neither a big box nor a poseur brand, you really have to consider this Rotel.

Picking a "What-Hifi" five star winner in a comparison test, you can't be wrong.
