Advent
Advent Corporation was established in 1969 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by Henry Kloss after he left KLH. Kloss launched Advent to make high-performance acoustic suspension speakers and pioneer home video projection.
Kloss was instrumental in bringing Dolby B noise reduction to consumer tape decks. He convinced Ray Dolby to license Dolby B for consumer audio, leading Advent to build the first high-fidelity cassette deck.
Between 1970 and 1995, Advent's standout products included 'The Large Advent Loudspeaker' (1970), a two-way design with a famous 'fried-egg' cone tweeter that delivered deep bass at an unbeatable price. They also produced 'The Smaller Advent' and the Advent Model 201 cassette deck, which transformed magnetic tape into an audiophile medium.
