Kenwood KA-405 amplifier

320€

Still a vintage Kenwood with a touch of eighties look

Produced in 1979, our KA-405 amplifier still belongs to the Trio Kenwood glorious phase. Great team of designers and engineers, among them 2 will start the high-end Accuphase brand. Those KA series are well done and sound good, this model is the precusor of the eighties look with this black banner and the introduction of black buttons. Fortunately, it look vintage enough with the 2 big analog vu meters, that appeared only a couple of years and were replaced by led bar vu-meters in the beginning of the eighties.

Simple commands, valuable ones like the tone direct bypass, and a gadget mike entry. Big chrome buttons and large analog Vu meters dancing with the music are pleasing the eye, but the sound performance is here as well. The phono entry is very refined and was a selling argument back in the day.

The impression is mild but precise, transitions are fast, the 55 watts are there and help the dynamics; there is some softness making the listening indulging. No headache ahead when matched with a cool pair of musical, singing speakers.

An affordable and classic amp, very good looking and desirable.

Finished in silver and black.

Pristine condition and look overall, the amplifier looks like being out of its box for the first time.

Fully cleaned, and sanitized unit.

Perfect working condition, see the photo gallery for potential cosmetic signs of patina and age.
