KOSS CM/530 loudspeakers
American built, alternative to JBL - Kollector!
This 1978 matching series number pair is a very rare find in such a good condition. You may remind Koss has a headphone major name; but actually they built also really good speakers.
By designing a left and a right channel configuration for the passive radiator, the woofer and the tweeter, Koss engineers have created a perfectly matched set of speakers that can be placed horizontally or vertically without losing the perfect right to left imaging, an incredible degree of dispersion and a beautiful, punchy american "West Coast" sound.
Finished in dark oak with black face plate, they look stunning on mid rise stands with the grille off.
Contemporary JBL "L" series do claim today high price tags, which is we believe understandable due to their legendary fame. This being said, these Koss offer a superb value for money for those after this punch and dynamics and that won't necessary follow the flock.
The usual maintenance and cleaning has been undertaken: dismantling, control of components, soldering and absorbing surfaces, veneer nurturing with lin seed oil/turpentine. The grille fabrics were steamed for sanitation. New aluminium model badges. The high frequency switch has been rebuilt on one of the pair.
