These units were built several decades ago. It is perfectly normal that during their lifetime, they faced cosmetic signs of age. We are talking here about optical signs, not the performance of the unit.
Our selection is curated, so you won't likely find a beat up or tatty piece of gear at Vintage Note.
Our selection is genuine, in the event of a modification, you will always know as much as we do.
But some patina, a scratch, a small dent on metallic surfaces is normal. Some coloration or stains on wood surfaces, or a scratch or dent as well. Some blemish on loudspeaker unit surfaces can show. Some amplifiers (mainly A class) even present a light smell due to their conception. On our selection items, nothing of the stated above, if present, affects the sound quality of the item.
We believe all this is part of the soul of the component.
We make great efforts in the photo shooting sessions to depict a honest appearance of any piece of equipment. We always remind you to closely look at our high quality pictures to make a correct assessment of the optical presentation of the unit. In doubt, ask.
May you be maniacally sensitive to every detail or always in search for perfection, please beware before an impulsive buy.
We present second-hand vintage gear. It is always possible that a better example exist, somewhere. But it is a fact that not so good pieces are easier to find, anywhere and in large amounts.
