Should i absolutely consider being fully vintage equipped?

So let's talk about your sources?

What do you want to keep, what do you want to change, what do you want to add?

Do you have a good turntable? Fine. Do you consider one? We have an opinion on this, vynil is a bit too hip nowadays, claiming prices that are sometimes non justified. Ask us!

You just found a lost big box full of your teenage cassette recordings? Excellent, super nice cassette recorders are cheaper than they were in the eighties these days!

What NOT to expect from vintage Hi-Fi components

These units were built several decades ago. It is perfectly normal that during their lifetime, they faced cosmetic signs of age. We are talking here about optical signs, not the performance of the unit.

Our selection is curated, so you won't likely find a beat up or tatty piece of gear at Vintage Note.

Our selection is genuine, in the event of a modification, you will always know as much as we do.

Which brands do you sell?

Vintage Note does not distribute new equipment from a particular brand. We offer a selection of vintage second-hand high-fidelity equipment. We do pick up a unit if its reputation, its quality and its current state do match our expectations, both in terms of audio prestations and optical presentation.

Our stock is therefore limited, moving, and presenting rare to find items.

Can i listen to a unit before i buy?

Contact us for an appointment to visit us. It is relevant to test loudspeakers, or a couple loudspeakers and amplifier, less to listen to an amplifier to match the speakers that waits for you at home… but at least you can assess it is fully working.

If you do consider buying a matched amplifier and loudspeaker system, which is for us the best choice, we will try to set up a session where you can listen to your own selection of tracks, read from a good source.

I'm too far for a visit. Do you ship your items?

This page has been fully rewritten after almost 2 years in business. We will try to provide a comprehensive overview.

We will always favour a one to one listening session, we do believe it's all the point… listen, test, compare. We make eight sales out of ten sharing with an enthusiast.

But yes, we can ship. But please, read the below, you will spare your time (and loads of ours).

What should i understand when buying vintage second-hand electronic Hi-Fi equipment?

First, please read this page about the condition of the units we present.

Second, all sales are for used equipment, used during decades possibly, but that was preserved or serviced.

All sales are on private basis, no professional rates, vat or fiscal invoices are applicable. All sales are final; we will almost never have an identical unit for a swap.
